Notice for Public Hearing for Ordinance #719

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Council of the Borough of New Cumberland, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, of the intention to hold a public hearing on, and consider adoption of, the following ordinance at its public meeting on December 13, 2023, at 7:00PM. The meeting will be held at the Borough Administration Office, 1120 Market Street, New Cumberland, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania 17070. 

Any interested citizen is invited to attend the aforementioned meeting to offer any comments or questions regarding the proposed Ordinance.

ORDINANCE NO. 719 

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF NEW CUMBERLAND, COUNTY OF CUMBERLAND, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA, FIXING THE TAX RATE FOR THE YEAR OF 2024 FOR BUDGETARY AND FISCAL PURPOSES. 

WHEREAS, the Borough Council of the Borough of New Cumberland adopted its budget for the year 2024; and 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to adopt this Ordinance fixing the tax rate to conform with the budget, 

NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby ORDAINED and ENACTED by the Borough Council of the Borough of New Cumberland, County of Cumberland and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as follows: 

SECTION 1. That a tax be and the same is hereby levied on all real property within the Borough of New Cumberland subject to taxation for the fiscal year 2024, as follows: 

Tax rate for general purposes, the sum of ………………………………………. 4.2 mills 
on each dollar of assessed valuation, or the sum of ………………………………42 cents 
on each one hundred dollars of assessed valuation. 

SECTION 2. All other Ordinances, parts of Ordinances, or parts of Resolutions inconsistent herewith shall be and the same expressly are repealed.
