Snow and Ice Removal From Sidewalks

To promote safe sidewalks during winter months, the owner, occupant, or tenant of every property fronting upon or alongside of any of the streets in New Cumberland Borough is required to remove all snow or ice fallen or formed within 10 hours from the end of a weather event. Snow or ice that continues after 6:00 p.m. may be removed at any time before 10:00 a.m. of the next morning. Fire hydrants must always remain visible and accessible. The owner, occupant, or tenant of every property is required to remove all snow or ice and provide a three-foot clearance around the fire hydrant within the time limits above. Snow and ice removed from sidewalks, walkways and fire hydrants shall in no case be thrown onto any street.
