Get Out on the Yellow Breeches Creek

Have you tried out the new boat launch (take-out only) in New Cumberland Borough Park that serves as the final take-out point, prior to the dam, for non-motorized boats on the Yellow Breeches Creek Water Trail. The access is primarily used for kayaking, although people are also able to fish from the bank. The new launch improved safety and increased access. It is a 15-foot-wide cast-in-place concrete ramp with a slip-resistant surface, which now provides ADA accessible access to the Yellow Breeches. The project also included the installation of a new, 12-foot-wide gravel path from the existing parking lot in the park to the boat launch; a gravel parking space near the launch that can accommodate a trailer; and a paved, ADA accessible parking space, aisle, and bituminous walkway to reach the launch.

Explore the Yellow Breeches Creek Water Trail Guide, which provides a list of access points, suggested trip ideas, and recreation information for approximately 22 miles of the Yellow Breeches Creek in Cumberland Valley. A big thank you to the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission for a $46,980.00 grant to help make this project happen.
