1st Annual Skyler Montgomery Youth Trout Day

On Saturday, March 25, 2023, the PA Fish & Boat Commission (PFBC) holds its annual Mentored Youth Trout Fishing Day Statewide. Locally youth can attend the 1st Annual Skyler Montgomery Youth Trout Day to learn to fish with experienced fishermen. Meet at the large pavilion in New Cumberland Borough Park.

  • Free rod & reel combos for first 75 kids.
  • Free bait
  • Food and light refreshments will be provided.
  • There will be prizes for the 3 biggest fish caught.

This is a FREE event, but please register in advance at ncyouthfishing.com. Volunteers will be on-hand to help register the day of the event, but please register in advance to help us plan accordingly.

IMPORTANT: To participate you must have a PA Fishing License. Youth anglers under age 16 can obtain a free Mentored Youth Trout Fishing License or purchase a 2023 Voluntary Youth Fishing License ($2.97) and must be accompanied by a licensed adult. Adult mentors accompanying youth anglers must have a valid PA Fishing License ($25.47) and Trout Permit ($12.47). Youth anglers may keep up to two trout, while adult mentors must practice catch-and-release fishing. Adults are not permitted to fish unless accompanying a child who is fishing. Fishing licenses, permits and more information are available at fishandboat.com. Fishing licenses can be purchased at the event, but we ask that you purchase them in advance of the event.
