NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to section 610 of the municipalities planning code, 53 P.S. § 10610, that the COUNCIL of NEW CUMBERLAND BOROUGH will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, JULY 9, 2025, at 7:00 pm, on ordinance #727 AMENDING and RESTATING IN ITS ENTIRETY the NEW CUMBERLAND borough Zoning Ordinance.   THE public hearing will be conducted at the NEW CUMBERLAND borough administration office, 1120 MARKET STREET, NEW CUMBERLAND, PA.  ANY INTERESTED CITIZEN IS INVITED TO ATTEND THE AFOREMENTIONED HEARING TO OFFER COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS REGARDING THE AMENDMENTS PROPOSED TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE. 

immediately following the public hearing at said date and time, council will hold its regular monthly meeting at which time council will consider the enactment of ORDINANCE #727 entitled: “AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF NEW CUMBERLAND, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING AND RESTATING THE NEW CUMBERLAND BOROUGH ZONING ORDINANCE IN ITS ENTIRETY; READOPTING THE NEW CUMBERLAND BOROUGH ZONING MAP; PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF; AND REPEALING ALL INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES.”

If enacted, Ordinance #727 will amend and restate in its entirety the New Cumberland Borough Zoning Ordinance which will include the following amendments: Section 202 (General Definitions) additions and revisions; Section 312 (Table of Authorized Principal Uses) addition of data center facility, recovery home, and vehicle body repair; Section 314 (Table of Authorized Accessory Uses and Structures) addition or update of data center accessory use and shed; Section 316 (Standards for Accessory Uses) updating standards for various uses; Article V (Conditional Uses) establishing standards for home occupational business, recovery home, short term rental, and data center facility; Article VI (Supplemental Regulations) updating performance standards and temporary uses; Article VII (Parking) updating or establishing parking standards for various uses; Article VIII (Signs) updating or establishing standards for various signs by type and zoning district and providing for penalties for violations thereof; and Article XII (Zoning Hearing Board) updating application procedures for special exception.

The purpose of this notice is to provide a summary of the general content of the Ordinance.  Each of the subsections contains extensive details, regulations, requirements, or criteria usually associated with these types of controls.  All interested parties are advised and invited to review a complete copy of the proposed zoning ordinance if additional information is needed for any of the proposed amendments or deletions.
