Animals at Large Ordinance Advertisement
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN the Council of the Borough of New Cumberland, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, at a duly convened meeting of Borough Council to be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Borough Administration Office, 1120 Market Street, New Cumberland, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania 17070, will consider adoption of Ordinance No. 729 is entitled: “An ordinance of the Borough of New Cumberland prohibiting dogs, cats, and other animals from running at large, prohibiting certain animal disturbances and the befouling and damage of property, establishing collar and leash requirements, including provisions for the humane treatment of feral cars, repealing all inconsistent ordinances, and establishing an effective date.”
Ordinance No. 729, if enacted, provides definitions for the ordinance, restricts disturbing or loud animal noises, requires cleaning up after animals, prohibits cruelty and mistreatment of animals, prohibits animals from running at large, allows for impounding of animals running at large, includes provisions for feeding of feral cats and TNR responsibilities, provides for enforcement and penalties, repeals all ordinances inconsistent, and establishing an effective date.
